Mert Alas filmed the accompanying video inside a New York poker club. The setting gives the song’s controlled swagger an appropriately theatrical backdrop, with Miley presiding over the room rather than merely arriving in it.
Why is the album limited to 10 tracks?
The official vinyl edition and Spotify list 10 tracks, matching Miley’s own account of the project. Apple Music currently labels the prerelease as an 11-song collection, but that appears to be the outlier rather than evidence of a surprise bonus track.
The album consists of nine distinct songs followed by “Bass Persuades Remixx.” Its confirmed collaborations include:
- “Different Religion” featuring New York band Model/Actriz
- “Neon Signs” featuring Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow
- “Bass Persuades Remixx” as the closing track
Miley has described the record as “a love story,” with peaceful love recurring across songs about relationships and the self. In announcing it, she said music can be “powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong,” covering a life that includes both a full heart and heartache.
That concise format appears deliberate. Rather than assembling a large pool of songs and sorting them later, she began with the running order and always intended the finished album to contain 10 tracks. Pop albums have recently shown a tendency to arrive in quantities better suited to warehouse inventory, so restraint counts as a concept now.
What changes with Miley’s Atlantic Records deal?
The album is her first release under Atlantic Records after two projects for Columbia Records: Endless Summer Vacation and 2025’s Something Beautiful. It also marks the public shift from Miley Cyrus to the mononym Miley for this campaign.
Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, endorsed the decision in comments to El País, calling the change natural for a “legendary superstar.” The family name remains available to historians, search engines and anyone who has watched television since 2006.
Musically, the move does not suggest a complete reset. “Bass Persuades” extends the glossy, performance-minded direction of Something Beautiful, but places more emphasis on direct club rhythms and synth-pop economy. The compact album structure reinforces that approach: fewer tracks, a fixed sequence and no sign of a sprawling deluxe annex, at least for now.
When will Miley perform at the Hollywood Bowl?
Miley will perform two concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16 and October 18, 2026. Ticketmaster lists them as her only announced shows at present, with Model/Actriz opening both nights. Promotional material indicates that she will perform the new album in full.
Both concerts are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. General ticket sales open September 10 at 10 a.m. local time, with purchases limited to four tickets per customer.
The shows also carry a local benefit beyond launching the record. A portion of every ticket will support the LA County Parks Foundation’s work restoring county parks damaged by wildfires.
That gives the two-night album presentation a civic component as well as the expected production, costumes and concentrated synth bass. For an era introduced in a poker club, Miley is at least putting part of the stake somewhere useful.
