Kylie Jenner’s Timothée Chalamet date night update came with the usual celebrity relationship mystery, but this time she actually showed a little of the logistics. In a TikTok shared May 9, Jenner filmed herself getting ready aboard a private jet for a very short trip to New York.
What did Kylie Jenner share from the trip?
“Get ready with me for date night in New York,” Jenner said in the video, explaining that the plan had come together quickly. “This trip was very last minute and I’m literally going for like, 24 hours.”
The clip showed the Kardashians star doing her makeup mid-flight and sounding genuinely excited about the quick turnaround. She also joked about the preparation involved, noting that she had gotten her hair done and a spray tan for the occasion. Even romance, apparently, has a glam schedule.
Jenner later posted another clip from a car after landing in New York. “We’re in New York!” she said. “For a day! I cannot believe that I did this. I’m so excited.”
Why fans think the TikTok was from an earlier outing
Although Jenner and Timothée Chalamet were seen together at a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on May 6, she made clear that the TikTok was not necessarily filmed in real time. In the caption, she wrote “Drafts” with a winking emoticon, signaling the video came from an earlier date night.
That small detail mattered because Jenner and Chalamet have kept most of their relationship relatively private, at least by Kardashian-adjacent standards. They are often photographed together at public events, but they do not regularly narrate the relationship online.
Fans noticed the shift. One commenter wrote, “We are closer to getting timothee in the tiktoks.” That may be optimistic, but optimism is free.
Jenner, 28, shares two children, Stormi, 8, and Aire, 4, with her ex Travis Scott. Chalamet, 30, has also largely avoided turning the romance into a press-tour talking point, which makes even a brief travel diary feel more revealing than it probably should.
How public has their relationship been?
Jenner and Chalamet have rarely discussed the relationship directly, but they have made several public appearances together during what has now been described as a three-year romance.
Their recent Knicks outing put them courtside at Madison Square Garden, a very public place to be private. Before that, the couple attended the December premiere of Marty Supreme in coordinating orange outfits.
Chalamet later gave Jenner a more direct public acknowledgment during the Critics Choice Awards ceremony on Jan. 4, after winning Best Actor for his performance as Marty Mauser in Josh Safdie’s film Marty Supreme.
“I'll just say thank you to my partner of three years,” Chalamet said in his acceptance speech. “Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. Appreciate it."
From the audience, Jenner mouthed back, “I love you.”
For a couple that tends to let appearances do the talking, the latest TikTok did not reveal much in the grand scheme of things. Still, it offered something fans tend to respond to: a real-time glimpse of effort, excitement and a slightly chaotic flight plan behind a very polished public romance.
