How did Tom Pelphrey react to the news?

Pelphrey, 43, posted a message on Instagram that made the moment feel bigger than a standard celebrity announcement.

“Deep gratitude and joy- so much respect and admiration for @kaleycuoco on this journey of ups and downs,” he wrote.

He also joined Cuoco in laughing about the anatomy scan, writing that the doctor “gave her a little prod for the pic and this was her immediate response…. definitely my child.”

Cuoco and Pelphrey got engaged in 2024 after two years of dating. Their first daughter, Matilda, was born in 2023, and both actors have spoken openly about how parenthood has reshaped their lives, especially their work choices.

Why fatherhood has changed Pelphrey’s priorities

Pelphrey, known for projects including Task, previously told E! News in January that Matilda had taken over his world completely, as toddlers tend to do, no management team required.

“My daughter owns my life,” he joked. “She doesn’t even need to manipulate, she just owns me.”

He added, “She can be upfront about it because I’m always gonna say yes.”

That shift has also affected how he and Cuoco think about acting schedules. Pelphrey noted that because Cuoco works too, the couple has tried to be deliberate about balancing career demands with family life.

“Obviously Kaley works, too. So trying to be smart about schedule,” he said.

For Pelphrey, though, the hierarchy is not especially complicated. “Being a dad is my no. 1 priority,” he added.
