The GTA 6 album will arrive alongside Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, complete with 34 original songs and a limited collector’s vinyl priced at $124.98 in the US and £108.99 in the UK. Apparently, a trip to Vice City now requires space on the record shelf as well as the console.
Music has always carried unusual weight in the Grand Theft Auto series. The games may focus on stolen vehicles, violent crime and extremely relaxed attitudes toward traffic law, but their radio stations and mission soundtracks often become just as memorable as the chaos.
What is included in Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album?
Rockstar Games has officially announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, describing it as a collection of 34 original songs that “capture the electric energy of Grand Theft Auto VI’s world of Vice City and Leonida.”
The release will be available through a Spotify playlist and in three physical formats:
- Standard CD
- Standard vinyl
- Limited collector’s-edition vinyl
The collector’s version costs $124.98 or £108.99 and launches on November 19, the same day as the game. Rockstar has not detailed the standard editions’ pricing in the announcement.
The physical release confirms that the music campaign goes beyond the licensed tracks heard in promotional footage. Close to 50 songs have already appeared across the game’s two trailers, an extended preview and leaked videos, prompting plenty of fan speculation about which artists would feature in the final release.
Which artists appear on the GTA 6 soundtrack?
The announcement followed a coordinated round of social media teasers on September 15. Travis Scott, PinkPantheress, Morgan Wallen and Fred again.. each posted images styled after GTA 6, leading many fans to expect a conventional soundtrack reveal.
Rockstar instead unveiled a separate album of original material. Six tracks have already been released, covering a broad mix of rap, pop, electronic music, Latin music, country and rock:
- Yung Lean, “That’s It,” featuring Future and Metro Boomin
- Travis Scott, “RHYNO,” produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo
- CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Etienne de Crécy, “Sexy Magic”
- Morgan Wallen, “Last Thing You Need”
- Rauw Alejandro, “Macacoa 2000”
- Keith Richards, “Bright Lights, Big City”
That lineup places Keith Richards and Travis Scott on the same project, which is one way to ensure the fictional state of Leonida has no clearly defined radio demographic.
Rockstar also has plans for in-game radio
The album is only part of the game’s music strategy. Rockstar has also teased the “next evolution of in-game radio,” suggesting more announcements are still to come before launch.
The company has not explained what that evolution involves, whether it means more dynamic stations, deeper integration with the game world or something else entirely. For now, the confirmed details are the 34-song album, six available tracks and three physical editions.
Given the franchise’s large collector community, the $125 limited vinyl is likely to attract attention despite its price. Rockstar has not said how many copies will be produced, so “limited” remains pleasantly vague, as it often does when expensive merchandise enters the room.
