MoneyToday reported that the site occupies the converted Taekwon V Museum, giving an older robot-themed venue a substantially more automated second life. The performance robots are made by Chinese robotics company Unitree, according to Seoul Economic Daily.
Not every machine has displayed flawless stage discipline. The Guardian reported seeing one dancing robot apparently malfunction, while a boxing robot fell from the stage before recovering. Human entertainers have also missed cues, although they are generally less likely to need a firmware explanation.
Those incidents underline the park’s central challenge. A technically impressive routine may attract an audience once, but repeat visits require changing shows, recognisable characters and some form of emotional attachment. Hardware alone rarely sustains a fan base.
Why is an entertainment company building it?
Galaxy Corporation, founded in 2019, is better known for managing major South Korean performers than for operating visitor attractions. Its roster includes G-Dragon, Taemin and actor Song Kang-ho. MoneyToday said the company generated 298.8 billion won in revenue during 2025, raised a cumulative 200 billion won and reached a reported valuation of 1 trillion won.
Chief executive Choi Yong-ho sees the park as more than a collection of machines performing familiar routines. He told Yonhap that combining entertainment content with “physical AI” could become “the next wave following K-pop.” Physical AI broadly refers to artificial intelligence embodied in machines that can move and interact with the real world.
That ambition explains the mix of polished choreography, audience participation and commercial robotics. Galaxy is testing whether the production methods behind Korean pop culture can be transferred to programmable performers. Robots do not need sleep, visas or conventional tour contracts. They do, however, need maintenance, reliable software and a strong reason for audiences to care.
Music critic Cha Woo-jin told The Guardian that robots suit K-pop’s highly visual presentation. He cautioned that emotional connection will determine whether they produce a genuine cultural shift or remain a novelty.
Could robot performers become an export business?
The Seoul venue doubles as a testing ground for an unusually practical idea: exporting K-pop-style performances without transporting human stars and their touring teams. Galaxy plans to open a Dubai branch by the end of 2026, according to MoneyToday, followed by robot-artist tours targeted for 2027.
A successful model could allow the company to reproduce shows in several markets, update choreography remotely and operate more frequently than a conventional touring production. It could also offer audiences a standardised version of Korean entertainment that does not depend on a celebrity appearing in person.
That efficiency comes with an obvious tension. K-pop fandom is built around personalities, relationships and carefully managed access to artists. Replacing those people with machines may preserve the lighting, movement and spectacle while removing the element that created the devotion in the first place.
The venture also relies on Chinese Unitree hardware while Galaxy attempts to develop a globally recognised South Korean physical-AI entertainment business. That is not necessarily unusual in an international technology supply chain, but it complicates the branding. The creative format may be Korean, while some of the machines carrying it overseas are not.
Will visitors return after the novelty fades?
The preview numbers show substantial early interest, and sold-out weekends suggest the park has moved beyond a quiet technology demonstration. What they do not establish is whether families, tourists and K-pop fans will return after seeing a robot dance or box once.
Galaxy will need a steady supply of new routines, characters and interactive experiences. Technical reliability also matters because a malfunction can be amusing on social media but less charming to someone who paid for admission. The planned schedule of more than 1,000 annual performances should provide plenty of data on what audiences enjoy and what sends them towards the exit.
For now, the attraction is best understood as both a theme park and a commercial experiment. It asks whether entertainment companies can turn robotics into repeatable intellectual property, then package and export it at scale.
The early crowds have answered the first question: people are curious. The harder question is whether they will become fans of the machines rather than merely visitors who wanted to see what all the mechanical movement was about.
