Emily Ratajkowski’s Dating History After Divorce

CelebrityEmily Ratajkowski’s Dating History After Divorce

Emily Ratajkowski’s dating history after divorce has been unusually public, partly because photographers followed it and partly because she described it herself in considerable detail. The model and author is now dating French filmmaker Romain Gavras, with the couple photographed spending time together in Rome on September 2.

The images showed Ratajkowski, 35, and Gavras, 45, being affectionate while exploring the city with her five-year-old son, Sylvester. The photographs came from paparazzi agency MEGA, and neither Ratajkowski nor Gavras has publicly explained the trip. A holiday, however, does not usually require a formal statement.

How did Emily Ratajkowski’s marriage end?

Ratajkowski married actor and producer Sebastian Bear-McClard in February 2018, only weeks after they began dating. Their son was born in March 2021.

In an essay published by The Cut on June 12, 2026, she gave a blunt account of how quickly the marriage deteriorated after becoming parents.

“My marriage collapsed,” she wrote. “Six months after my son was born, my husband and I stopped having sex. Less than a year later, we separated.”

The couple split in 2022. Their divorce judgment was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on July 22, 2025, according to court documents reported by Cosmopolitan.

Before the separation, Ratajkowski said she had never had a one-night stand and had slept with eight people, including four live-in partners. She linked that restraint to her effort to be viewed as “precious” and a “good girl.”

“Keeping my body count low was insurance,” she wrote. “I thought it meant no one would ever cheat on me, that I’d always be loved, happy, and safe. None of that had turned out to be true.”

Who was linked to her after the separation?

Once the marriage ended, Ratajkowski said she began “compulsively dating” and wanted to “f**k her way into a new kind of woman.” Her aim, as she described it, was to work out what kind of person she wanted to become outside marriage.

Celebrity dating records are not court evidence. They tend to combine confirmed relationships, photographed outings and assumptions made because two attractive people occupied the same pavement. With that qualification, published timelines have connected Ratajkowski to:

  • DJ Orazio Rispo
  • Artist Jack Greer
  • Pete Davidson
  • Eric André
  • Harry Styles
  • Shaboozey
  • Brad Pitt, although that connection remained a rumor

Us Weekly reported that Ratajkowski and Davidson dated in late 2022. She was later photographed with André and Styles, while Cosmopolitan included the other names in its account of her post-separation dating life.

Her essay also described several unnamed partners rather than turning every encounter into a celebrity identification exercise. These included a vegan graffiti artist, a chef worried he had chlamydia, a younger Spanish man who repeatedly sent nude photographs, a heavily medicated billionaire’s son with politics she questioned, several Italians and another DJ.

She also wrote about an “Elder Millennial” interested in dental hygiene, psychedelics and dirty talk. Some identities, she noted, would remain unpublished “for legal reasons.” Sensible boundaries do occasionally appear in celebrity memoirs.

What did she say about dating as a single mother?

Ratajkowski initially worried about returning to dating while raising Sylvester. Her essay presented the experience as both sexual experimentation and an examination of how men responded to her independence and motherhood.

Among her conclusions was that many men appeared sexually interested in motherhood. She also found that the less she seemed to need a man, the more urgently he appeared to need her.

Not every reader welcomed the account. The Daily Beast reported criticism that her experience felt disconnected from that of many single mothers, particularly because her wealth and access to childcare gave her freedoms unavailable to most parents.

Forbes contributor Maia Hoskin argued that the response raised another issue: racial disparities in which women receive approval for discussing sexual autonomy, motherhood and reinvention. In other words, the debate expanded beyond whether wealthy celebrities have easier childcare arrangements, a question that was not exactly keeping researchers awake.

The essay has also become more than a personal disclosure. In July 2026, the Los Angeles Times reported that Ratajkowski had secured a seven-figure memoir deal focused on sex and life as a single mother. Her dating period is therefore becoming a commercial project as well as a public one.

When did Romain Gavras enter the picture?

Ratajkowski and Gavras were photographed together in New York in November 2025, according to Just Jared. She made the relationship Instagram-official on February 19, 2026, posting a series of photographs of the couple. Us Weekly, Harper’s Bazaar and TF1 Info also reported the announcement.

Their appearance in Rome came roughly six months later and marked another public sign that the relationship had continued. Sylvester’s presence also made the outing more substantial than a photographed dinner between two famous people, although neither partner has announced an engagement or discussed long-term plans.

Gavras previously dated singer Dua Lipa. The source report also linked him to Rita Ora, but no reliable corroborating report was located for that claim.

For Ratajkowski, Gavras appears to be her most significant publicly acknowledged relationship since Bear-McClard. That does not make every earlier photograph irrelevant, but it does separate an official relationship from the large category of people who once stood near her while cameras were present.

Who is Romain Gavras beyond the relationship?

Gavras is a Paris-born filmmaker with an established career separate from celebrity dating coverage. His work has often carried political themes and a confrontational visual style.

His latest feature, Sacrifice, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2025. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Evans, and Screen Daily described it as Gavras’s English-language debut.

That background gives the relationship another dimension often lost when a director is introduced mainly as somebody’s new boyfriend. Gavras has his own prominent career, while Ratajkowski has increasingly shifted from modelling and acting into writing about gender, marriage, sex and motherhood.

The Rome photographs offer no grand revelation about where the couple is heading. They show a relationship that began appearing publicly in late 2025, became official online in February 2026 and was still visibly intact by September. For now, that is the confirmed story. The memoir will presumably provide the footnotes.
