Netflix has confirmed that Emily in Paris Season 6 will be the show’s final chapter, giving Emily Cooper one last round of romance, travel, and workplace decisions that somehow still require couture-level styling.
The streamer announced on May 21 that production has begun on the sixth season, while also revealing that the upcoming installment will close out the series. Lily Collins, who stars as Emily, shared the news with fans in an Instagram video and called her time on the show “unforgettable.”
Why Netflix Is Ending the Series With Season 6
Collins framed the final season as a farewell built for the audience that has followed Emily from her first culture-clash missteps in Paris to her increasingly complicated personal life across Europe.
“Season 6 will bring you everything you love about the show, and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime,” Collins said. “Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into making this a fantastic farewell season, which we’re now filming. I can’t wait for all of the magic behind, and to celebrate our final season with you in the most chic way yet. We’re so incredibly grateful, and we love you all.”
Creator and writer Darren Star also thanked Netflix and the viewers who helped turn the series into one of the platform’s glossy escapist staples.
“Making Emily in Paris with this extraordinary cast and crew has been the trip of a lifetime,” Star wrote. “Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have Emily in Paris!”
Where the Final Season Is Filming
Before the series returns to its natural habitat in Paris, Emily is heading to Greece.
The fifth season ended with Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, receiving an unexpected free vacation in Greece from his new boss. After learning that Emily had split from Marcello, played by Eugenio Franceschini, he sent her a classic postcard inviting her to join him. Subtle? Not exactly. Effective? Apparently.
Alongside the announcement, Netflix released new images of Collins and Star filming on location in Greece, which makes Emily’s next move fairly clear. The final season will not stop there, though. Season 6 will also film in Monaco for the first time before bringing Emily back to Paris.
That return feels less like a surprise and more like a contractual obligation to the title, but emotionally it tracks. For all the detours, the show’s central fantasy has always been Emily finding herself, and often several new problems, in the City of Love.
When Could Season 6 Premiere?
Netflix has not announced an official premiere date for the final season.
If the show follows a production schedule similar to Season 5, viewers can likely expect Emily’s last run to arrive near the end of 2026. Until then, the farewell tour is officially underway, with Greece, Monaco, and Paris all set to play a part in closing out the story.
