Ella Langley faces her fears in a new TikTok video, swapping the relative safety of a recording studio for parrots, a baby kangaroo and, eventually, a boa constrictor. The country singer’s exotic animal encounter arrived during a rather productive week, just after “Choosin’ Texas” set a major Billboard record.
How did Ella Langley confront her animal fears?
Langley shared the video on Wednesday, beginning with the less alarming members of the animal kingdom. A parrot perched on her shoulder, and she sat beside a baby kangaroo on a couch.
Then someone introduced an Argentine boa, because apparently the kangaroo portion had not supplied enough suspense.
“This is facing my fears a little bit,” Langley said as she prepared to hold the snake.
She looked understandably nervous at first but gradually became more comfortable. Langley allowed the boa constrictor to curl around her shoulders and rest across her body, remaining calm as it settled in.
The clip ended on a friendlier note, with the singer hugging and holding a lemur.
“I love today,” she said.
Fans quickly filled the comments with reactions. One called the experience “So fun!” while another admitted, “omg the snakes I would have ran.” Others praised Langley directly, writing, “You’re amazing. Please don’t ever change,” and, “You’re the cutest thing in life tho.”
What record did “Choosin’ Texas” break?
The animal meeting came days after “Choosin’ Texas” completed its 23rd week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. That run pushed it past Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” making Langley’s track the longest-running chart-topper in Hot 100 history.
The song first entered the chart in November 2025. It became Langley’s first top 10 single in January before reaching No. 1 for the first time in February.
On Tuesday night, Langley posted an Instagram video celebrating the achievement and trying, with limited success, to process what had happened.
“I’m genuinely trying to find the words to explain what’s going on in my brain today,” she began.
“What? I don’t know. Thank you so much. Thank you for loving this song, for listening to it,” she continued. “I’m running out of hyperboles to describe how I feel, so I will just let my dog in the background show you his excitement.”
Her dog then barked, providing a concise statement on the matter.
How did Langley react to the milestone?
Langley said the song’s success was transforming not only her own career but also the lives of its writers and her family.
“Just thank you. Thank you so much. It’s changing my life. It’s changing the lives of the writers of this song. It’s changing the lives of my family, and it is truly growing an atmosphere for something I’m gonna be able to do the rest of my life,” she said.
She added that the record still did not feel real and joked that someone might enter the room and reveal the whole thing had been an elaborate prank.
“It feels fake and somebody’s going to come in and be like, ‘Haha, we’re kidding the whole time. Just kidding,’” Langley said. “I’m really excited to just experience a moment like this in my life.”
The singer told fans she planned to celebrate that night. She closed the video with a compact verdict on the song that had just rewritten chart history: “Choosin’ T … that’s the one huh?”
Between a record-breaking single and a boa around her shoulders, Langley had several reasons to feel that the week was not entirely normal.
