Danny Jones and Georgia are said to be in a steadier place one year after the Brit Awards after-party moment that put their marriage under public scrutiny.
At the 2025 Universal Music party following the Brit Awards, Jones and Maura Higgins, who had been I’m A Celebrity campmates, were seen kissing at around 3am. The moment was later described as a “brief drunken kiss,” but it landed hard for Georgia, who has been married to the McFly guitarist since 2014.
According to The Sun, the couple are still working through the fallout, with Georgia putting a clear boundary in place: she now joins Danny on nights out.
“Danny and Georgia are in a really good place now,” a source told the outlet. “It was incredibly difficult for Georgia, so she’s had to put some boundaries in place.”
A public apology, then distance
After the kiss became public, Danny posted an apology on Instagram to his wife and family. Since then, he and Maura have reportedly managed to avoid each other.
The distance has not been difficult to explain. Danny has been on the road with McFly, while Maura has been pursuing opportunities in the United States. The former Love Island contestant has appeared on The Traitors US alongside Monét X Change, Rob Rausch and Donna Kelce.
At the time of the Brit Awards incident, Maura had recently split from The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks. Their relationship was reported to have ended on Valentine’s Day that year.
There were also reports that Georgia had left the family home during the fallout. Danny later skipped the Baftas last May, reportedly because of the possibility of crossing paths with Maura.
Georgia’s reported “second chance”
Last March, The Sun reported that Georgia had returned home after spending time away with friends and was giving Danny a “second chance.”
“The break has done Georgia a world of good,” a source said at the time. “Being out of the house and with her friend Rose Mahon was what she needed to clear her head.”
The source added: “Her relationship with Danny was pushed to breaking point, and they are still trying to work out what they want. Danny has made it clear he will do anything to make it work.”
Neither Danny nor Georgia has spoken publicly in detail about the fallout since.
Back out together in London
More recently, the couple appeared to be moving forward. Last month, they went on a sunny beach holiday for a birthday celebration with family and Danny’s McFly bandmate Dougie Poynter.
Since returning, they have reportedly been seen out together in London, including a night at Freedom bar in Soho.
“Last week, they enjoyed a wild night at Freedom bar in Soho and it was like the old days,” the source told The Sun. “They were drinking and having fun and life felt really good again.
“Danny was on top form and the club went wild when a McFly song came on – they were all loving it.”
Georgia has also shared glimpses of family life on Instagram, including an ad showing renovations at home. In the clip, she made cereal with the couple’s eight-year-old son Cooper while they sat on the floor in pyjamas, picnic-style.
For a celebrity marriage that has spent a year being analysed through party sightings, travel schedules and carefully worded reports, the latest update is less dramatic than the headline that started it. That may be exactly the point.
