The body count on Dexter: Resurrection is not the only thing expanding. Season 2 has added another familiar face from outside the usual prestige-TV casting pool: WWE star Chris Jericho.
New set photos spotted by Dexter Daily show Jericho on the production, placing him inside the Dexter universe as filming continues. The images reportedly include spoiler-heavy material, but the useful headline is clear enough: Jericho appears to be playing some kind of antagonist.
That fits the shape Season 2 seems to be taking. The news arrives just one day after Friday the 13th actor Kane Hodder was revealed for the new season. Hodder’s role has not been officially detailed, though the brief look producers shared also suggested he may be playing someone Dexter Morgan needs to remove from circulation.
Dexter’s New Target List
Season 1 ended with Dexter stealing a stack of files containing information on active serial killers. That setup gives the new season a very practical engine: Dexter now has names, patterns, and likely locations for killers he can hunt.
If the show follows that thread, Jericho and Hodder could be among those targets. That may also mean their roles are limited to a few episodes rather than season-long arcs, depending on how Dexter works through his newly acquired files. It is an efficient way to bring in recognizable names without turning the series into a parade of stunt casting. Mostly efficient, anyway. This is still Dexter.
The season already has bigger-name killers on the board. Brian Cox is set to play the infamous New York Ripper, while Dan Stevens will appear as the Five Borough Killer. Both roles currently sound more central to the season than the newly spotted additions.
Filming Is Still Early
Production on Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 began in New York only two weeks ago, so the call sheet may not be finished surprising viewers. With the season apparently structured around Dexter tracking multiple killers, there is room for more notable guest players to surface as filming moves forward.
