A second Chanel Maxi Flap Bag, purchased in Paris for a reported $9,300, was intended to become Cardi's everyday option. She praised its size and closed design, describing it as “huge” and “private.” Everyday is a flexible category when the bag costs more than many used cars.
She then revealed a cheetah-print Chanel pony-hair purse valued at $15,955. Cardi already owned what she called its “sister” and expected both furry designs to become autumn favourites.
“It's gorgeous,” she said. “I have to have both of them. I have to have the siblings.”
What else appeared in the five-week haul?
The collection moved beyond Chanel with a delicate white feathered purse ordered from Italy. Cardi said she had worn it only once and did not expect frequent use because of its fragile construction. No firm price was given for that piece.
Next came a green tweed Bottega Veneta shoulder bag reportedly priced at $6,700. Then the Hermès portion began, which is where both the materials and the valuations became more complicated.
The reported Hermès purchases included:
- A pink alligator Mini Kelly, estimated on the resale market at between $25,000 and $35,000
- A grey matte-alligator Hermès bag reported as a Birkin 25
- A bright-green alligator Mini Kelly purchased in London and valued at about $44,100
Initial coverage described the pink and green bags as Birkins. HOLA! USA and People identified them as Kelly bags instead, an assessment supported by their visible structure. Hermès treats the Kelly and Birkin as separate lines, rather than interchangeable names for any handbag with a long waiting list and a formidable price.
The Kelly generally has one top handle and a detachable shoulder strap, while the Birkin has two handles. That distinction matters because model, size, leather, colour and condition all affect resale pricing.
Is the haul really worth more than $187,000?
The widely reported $187,000 figure should be treated as an approximate valuation, not a confirmed checkout total. Cardi did not display receipts or publish a complete itemised bill.
Coverage combined known or reported retail prices with resale-market estimates. The pink Mini Kelly's $25,000 to $35,000 range and the green bag's reported $44,100 value are examples of the latter. Resale prices can exceed retail prices substantially, especially for rare Hermès colours, sizes and exotic skins.
Misidentifying a Kelly as a Birkin also complicates comparisons. A valuation attached to the wrong model may still land somewhere near the market price, but “somewhere near” is doing useful work when five-figure handbags are involved.
Several listed prices do not independently add up to more than $187,000 because reports did not provide public figures for every item. The total may be plausible, particularly once the grey Hermès and feathered purse are included, but it remains a media estimate rather than documented spending.
Cardi ended the video by saying, “I'm just an addict.” She also suggested that a shoe haul could follow, because one luxury category was evidently not enough administration.
Why this was not Cardi B's first luxury haul
The August video continued a format Cardi had used earlier in the summer. On June 22, she displayed more than $52,000 in reported Chanel purchases. Combining the two published estimates puts her June and August hauls above $239,000, although the same caution applies: those figures reflect reported values, not necessarily the exact amounts she paid.
Her wider collection operates in an even more rarefied market. Vogue previously reported that resale prices for a crocodile Himalaya Birkin like one owned by Cardi began at roughly $300,000. Marie Claire also reported that she had carried a rare Jean Paul Gaultier-era Birkin valued at $120,000.
That context makes the latest video less a sudden shopping spree than another instalment in an established social-media series. Cardi buys luxury bags, explains their colours and family relationships, and lets viewers perform the arithmetic.
No substantive new purchases or reactions had emerged by August 25. Most follow-up coverage repeated details from the TikTok, while the main unresolved questions concerned product identification and how the headline total was calculated. The bags are certainly expensive. The accounting is simply less polished than the leather.
