Britney Spears makeover photos are drawing attention after the singer left a treatment facility and appeared on celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton’s Instagram, a very public return to everyday glamour after several difficult months.
Spears, 44, had checked into rehab after a March traffic stop in Los Angeles, where she was pulled over following reports that she was “driving erratically at high speeds” on a freeway. She later pleaded guilty to reckless driving involving alcohol and drugs and was sentenced to 12 months’ probation.

Appleton also called Spears “not only an icon, but one of the most genuinely kind and gentle souls I’ve ever met.”

Footage from Spears’ March arrest was recently released, showing her briefly sobbing in the back seat of a police car before she was taken to a hospital.
Following her guilty plea, Spears was ordered to pay a $571 fine, about £423, as part of her sentencing deal. Her probation terms also require her to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month.
