Netflix has set the Bridgerton season 5 release for 2027, giving the ton its shortest wait between seasons since the drama first arrived in 2020. The news came during Netflix’s May 13 upfront presentation and was confirmed by multiple outlets.

That timing matters for a series that has trained viewers to be patient, sometimes very patient. Season four debuted in January, and season five will be the first installment to arrive less than two years after the previous season. For a show built on longing, at least the production calendar is showing some mercy.

Why the 2027 return is a first for the series

By the time season five arrives, Bridgerton will already have four seasons behind it. The Netflix hit has never rushed its rollouts, which is not unusual for a large-scale period drama with elaborate costumes, sets, choreography, and enough candlelit eye contact to power a small estate.
