Prime Video’s The Boys Season 5 Episode 7 teaser has arrived, and it is not exactly offering comfort. With the series now two episodes away from its finale, the new footage brings back key Gen V heroes, shows Hughie sounding defeated, and ends with Homelander standing in the Oval Office. Subtle, as ever.

What changed after Episode 6?
Episode 6 ended with a major setback for Butcher, Hughie, and the rest of the team. Soldier Boy handed Homelander V-One, a twist that appears to undercut the group’s plan to use a super virus against him.
The moment left Homelander looking stronger than ever, firing his laser vision into the sky while everyone else faced the uncomfortable possibility that their strategy may no longer work. At minimum, the plan needs revision. At worst, it is gone entirely.
The show’s official account framed the incoming penultimate chapter with typical restraint: “Penultimate episode, lads. Grab a Hawaiian shirt and lace up yer fuckin’ boots.” There are many ways to describe a crisis involving unstable superheroes and political power. That is certainly one of them.
Which Gen V characters are returning?
The teaser picks up in that bleak mood, with Hughie appearing to say what no one wants to admit: “It’s over. We lost.” The footage then cuts through several quick glimpses, including the return of Sheline and Dogknott.
Most notably, it confirms that Gen V characters are finally stepping back into the main story. At least two major figures from the spinoff are shown:
- Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, whose blood-bending abilities made her one of Gen V’s central characters.
- Jordan Li, played by London Thor and Derek Luh, whose body-swapping powers became a defining part of the spinoff’s ensemble.
Their return matters because Gen V Season 2 seemed to position its younger heroes as important players in the wider universe. Since then, much of that cast has been largely absent from The Boys Season 5, leaving viewers to wonder whether showrunner Eric Kripke and the creative team had shifted direction.
Now, it looks like Marie and Jordan will have a role in the final stretch after all.
Why is Homelander in the Oval Office?
The teaser closes on its most ominous image: Homelander inside the Oval Office at the White House. The footage does not explain what he is doing there, but the timing is hard to ignore.
After receiving V-One, Homelander is likely feeling even more untouchable than usual, which is an alarming development for a character who has rarely needed encouragement in that department. His presence in the seat of American executive power suggests the final episodes are pushing the show’s superhero satire directly into political nightmare territory.
For viewers, the image works because it compresses the show’s long-running anxieties into one frame: celebrity power, state power, corporate power, and one deeply unstable man who thinks accountability is for other people.
When does the next episode premiere?
The Boys Season 5, Episode 7 premieres on Prime Video on Wednesday, May 13. It is the penultimate episode, meaning it has the job of setting the table for the series finale while also managing the fallout from Soldier Boy’s decision and the return of the Gen V cast.
The teaser arrives amid broader conversation about the franchise, including the recent cancellation of Gen V and Kripke’s comments after the series once again appeared to accidentally echo real-world events.
IGN gave Episode 6 an 8 out of 10, writing: “Though the dramatic climax doesn't entirely land, The Boys Season 5, Episode 6 nonetheless delivers a proper blend of humor, violence, and dramatic pathos.”
With Homelander empowered, the virus plan in doubt, and Marie and Jordan back on the board, Episode 7 appears built to make the finale messier, louder, and probably very bad for anyone hoping for a normal day at work.
