A Backstreet Boys UK tour could be coming in 2027, with the group reportedly planning their first British concerts since the DNA World Tour reached the country in November 2022. One proposed date would bring Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson to London’s O2 Arena.
The plans have not been formally announced, and dates, ticket details and other venues remain secret for now. Still, a source claimed the five singers are ready to tour again after a busy run of large-scale residency shows.
“Backstreet’s back, and they’re coming to London,” the insider said, adding that the band are “on top form.” Subtlety was never really part of the Backstreet Boys production budget.
When could the Backstreet Boys return to the UK?
The reported concerts are expected to take place next year. The London shows may also form part of celebrations marking The O2’s 20th anniversary in 2027, although the venue and band have yet to confirm that connection.
“The lads are beyond excited about this and have been working so hard,” the source said.
If the plans go ahead, the tour would end a gap of roughly five years between Backstreet Boys performances in Britain. Their previous UK dates came in November 2022 during the DNA World Tour, which supported DNA, their tenth studio album.
The group have hardly been resting since then. They performed a residency at Sphere in Las Vegas earlier in 2026 and are now staging an elaborate European run in Germany. More Sphere concerts are scheduled from November until early January, including a New Year’s Eve show.
Why are the Germany concerts called a homecoming?
Backstreet Boys began their Into the Millennium: Homecoming, Live in Germany residency at Düsseldorf’s Merkur Spiel-Arena on September 25. The 10-show run has sold 450,000 tickets and represents the band’s only European performances of 2026.
Germany played an important role in their early international success. The country helped turn I’ll Never Break Your Heart into their first major hit outside the United States in 1996, giving the young group a foothold well before global fame became routine.
“When we talk about this being a homecoming, it’s because Germany is where everything clicked for us,” Brian Littrell said. “It’s where our dream stopped being hypothetical and became something real. Coming back for these shows feels full circle.”
The residency is due to finish in October before the band return to Las Vegas. That schedule leaves 2027 open for the rumoured UK dates, assuming the private planning eventually becomes public planning.
What happens during the Millennium residency?
The current show revives the era of Millennium, the group’s third studio album. Released in 1999, it became one of the best-selling albums ever, received five Grammy nominations and produced a tour that ranked among the fastest-grossing of its time.
The new production includes a 26-song set, with the band performing signature tracks such as I Want It That Way, Larger Than Life and Everybody.
For the opening, all five members descend from the stadium roof, echoing an entrance used during their late-1990s Into the Millennium tour. They then launch into Larger Than Life before eventually closing with Everybody. Nobody attending a Backstreet Boys residency was likely demanding restraint.
The staging also shows why reports of another arena tour are credible. The band already have a current production, a substantial catalogue and hundreds of thousands of ticket buyers willing to revisit 1999 with modern lighting.
How long have Backstreet Boys been together?
Backstreet Boys formed in 1993, when youngest member Nick Carter was 13. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 1996 and helped propel them to international stardom.
They have since sold more than 150 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band in history. Although the group have taken breaks, they never formally split up. Kevin Richardson left in 2006 but returned to the permanent lineup in 2012.
The members have continued with projects outside the band. AJ McLean has toured with NSYNC singer Joey Fatone, while Carter has combined solo work with Backstreet Boys commitments. Those side ventures have not prevented the group from maintaining a schedule that would be considered ambitious even without three decades of choreography behind them.
Could the group also play the Super Bowl?
A possible UK tour is not their only target for 2027. During a Las Vegas performance, AJ McLean asked the audience whether Backstreet Boys should headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
“What do you guys think? Backstreet Boys, 2027 Super Bowl Halftime? Let’s make it happen!” McLean said.
“I mean, why not?” he added. “It’s in Los Angeles; it’s right down the street.”
No Super Bowl booking has been announced, just as the UK concerts remain unconfirmed. For now, fans have two large rumours and no ticket-sale date, a familiar arrangement in the concert business.
